Fraternal Order of Police
Minutes December 11th, 2012
The regular monthly meeting was held December 11th, 2012 at the
Knights of Columbus, Hollidaysburg.
All lodge officers were present except Chaplain Flanagan.
President Kovel led the members in attendance with the Pledge of Allegiance and
opening prayer.
MOTION
made by Brother Neil and second by sister Kovel to waive the reading of the
previous minutes. Motion passed.
SICKNESS AND DISTRESS
– Brother Friedenberger is receiving ongoing treatment for cancer.
REPORTS OF FINANCIAL SECRETARY/TREASURER –
Treasurers report provided by Brother Cunningham, and Special accounts report
provided by Vice President Darrin Cornelius.
MOTION
made by brother Bob Kovel and second by brother Mowery to accept the reports.
Motion passed.
REPORTS OF COMMITTEES
– Brother Hetzel spoke about the income from the lodge gun raffle. One rifle did
not go on the daily lottery numbers so a ticket was drawn at the meeting
resulting in Tpr Dave Mcgarvey winning the remaining rifle.
BALLOTING OF CANIDIDATES –

MOTION
to accept both candidates by brother Rhyner and second by brother Hetzel. Motion
passed.
READING OF COMMUNICATIONS –
Brother Thomas Hasse sent a Christmas card to the lodge with a $400.00 donation
to the lodge as well. The lodge will send brother Hasse his 2013 membership card
paid in full with a Christmas Thank you card.

NEW BUSINESS –
Nominations for 2013-2014 lodge officers.(refer to attached list)
GOOD OF THE ORDER –
President Kovel spoke about current contract negotiations and issues involving
the PSP and current Budget.
Brother Patrick spoke about
the meeting with the Captain.(GREY)
MOTION
made by brother Kovel and second by brother Patrick to send the maximum number
of delegates to the January 2013 round robin. Motion passed.
MOTION
made by sister Kovel and second by Brother Patrick to pay the bills against the
Lodge, Motion passed.
MOTION
made by Brother Ianuzzi to Adjourn, second by Brother Mowery, motion passed.

– Brother Joe Kovel nominated Brother Cornelius for the position of Lodge 57
President. Brother Cornelius accepted the nomination.
VICE PRESIDENT
– Brother Cornelius nominated brother Joe Kovel for the position of Lodge 57
Vice President. Brother Kovel accepted the nomination.
SECRETARY
– Brother Hetzel nominated brother Evans for the position of secretary. Brother
Evans accepted the nomination.
TREASURER
– Brother Evans nominated brother Hetzel for the position of Treasurer. Brother
Hetzel accepted the nomination.
