Fraternal Order of Police

Minutes October 2nd, 2012

 

 

The regular monthly meeting was held October 2nd 2012 at the Bedford American Legion.

All lodge officers were present except Chaplain Flanagan.

President Kovel led the members in attendance with the Pledge of Allegiance and opening prayer.

MOTION made by Brother Neil and second by brother L. Wagner to waive the reading of the previous minutes. Motion passed.

SICKNESS AND DISTRESS – Brother Neil had back surgery and is recovering well. Brother Chaney had his knee operated on again and is recovering well.

REPORTS OF FINANCIAL SECRETARY/TREASURER – Treasurers report provided by Brother Cunningham

MOTION made by brother Elliott and second by brother Johns to accept the reports. Motion passed.

REPORTS OF COMMITTEES Brother Hetzel reminds members to start turning in sold gun tickets and START SELLING THE UNSOLD TICKETS!

BALLOTING OF CANIDIDATES – Application for

Associate Membership: 1. Kayla Hetzel sponsored by brother Jeff Hetzel

                                          2. Charles Nesbin sponsored by V.P. Cornelius

                                          3. Ricthey LeSalle sponsored by V.P. Cornelius

MOTION to accept by brother Blackburn and second by brother Baker. Motion passed.

READING OF COMMUNICATIONS –None

NEW BUSINESS – None

GOOD OF THE ORDER – President Kovel spoke about contract negotiations and current manpower issues. Treasurer Cunningham spoke reference the meeting with the Captain.

MOTION made by Brother Hershey and second by Brother Hartman to pay the bills against the Lodge, Motion passed.

MOTION made by Brother Neil to Adjourn, second by sister  N. Kovel, motion passed.

November meeting scheduled in Huntingdon at Alexandria VFD, Tuesday Nov. 6th at 7:30PM.
